On April 9, 2025, the Research Center successfully hosted a Grant & Proposal Writing Workshop, featuring esteemed keynote speakers Dr. Solomon Osho and Dr. Oluwagbemiga Ojumu from Prairie View A&M University. The event commenced with a welcoming address by Dr. Selahattin Bekmez, who highlighted the importance of capacity building in research and academic development.

Following the opening remarks, Dr. Osho and Dr. Ojumu delivered a comprehensive presentation on the fundamentals of grant writing. They provided an in-depth overview of what grants are, how they operate, and the critical importance of developing strong, competitive proposals. Drawing from their extensive experience, they offered valuable strategies for identifying and approaching potential funding sources, while emphasizing the pivotal role grant proposals play in securing financial support for research and community projects.

The speakers guided participants through the structure of a successful proposal, elaborating on each of its key components. These included the executive summary, statement of needs, goals and objectives, project description, budget and justification, organizational background, evaluation methodology, and sustainability plan. Their insights were not only informative but also practical, equipping attendees with the tools necessary to enhance their grant writing capabilities and improve their chances of funding success.

The workshop concluded with a discussion session, allowing attendees to engage directly with the speakers and seek clarification on various aspects of the grant writing process. In recognition of their valuable contributions, Dr. Selahattin Bekmez and Dr. Tas presented certificates of appreciation to Dr. Osho and Dr. Ojumu on behalf of Northern American University.
