American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL)
AAAL is a professional organization of scholars who are interested in and actively contribute to the multi-disciplinary field of applied linguistics.
Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) | University of Minnesota
CARLA is a Title VI Language Resource Center devoted to improving language teaching and learning. It is one of sixteen Language Resource Centers (LRC) based at universities across the United States.
Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL)
CAL, a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington DC, has earned an international reputation for its contributions to the fields of bilingual and dual language education, English as a second language, world languages education, language policy, assessment, immigrant and refugee integration, literacy, dialect studies, and the education of linguistically and culturally diverse adults and children.
Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA)
CEA is a specialized accrediting agency that focuses on postsecondary English language programs and institutions. Its mission is to protect the interests of students and promote excellence in the field of English language teaching and administration through the accreditation of English language programs and institutions worldwide.
EnglishUSA
EnglishUSA is the only organization in the United States that includes all types of English language programs (ELPs), including pathway programs within institutions. With a membership of over 200 accredited ELPs, it is the largest membership organization specifically serving and supporting ELPs in the United States.
International Literacy Association (ILA)
ILA is a professional membership organization for literacy professionals across 128 countries.
Literacy Research Association (LRA)
LRA is a non-profit professional organization, comprised of individuals who share an interest in advancing literacy theory, research, and practice. It is a community that engages in research and dialogue pertaining to literacy and related topics.
National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE)
NABE is a non-profit membership organization that works to advocate for educational equity and excellence for bilingual/multilingual students in a global society.
National Association of English Learner Program Administrators (NAELPA)
NAELPA serves as the voice of multilingual learners (MLs), representing State Education Agencies (SEAs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) across the United States. The organization provides its members with direct contact to the change agents in each state and at the Federal level.
National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)
NCTE is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education and supports teachers and their students in classrooms, on college campuses, and in online learning environments.
Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) | U.S. Department of Education
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) provides national leadership to help ensure that English learners and immigrant students attain English proficiency and achieve academic success.
TESOL International Association (Formerly Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages)
TESOL International Association is the largest community dedicated to English language teaching. It advances professional expertise in English language teaching to speakers of other languages in multilingual contexts worldwide through professional learning, research, standards, and advocacy.
Texas Association for Bilingual Education (TABE)
Through a balanced program of research, professional development, and public education, TABE pursues the implementation of educational policies and effective bilingual-bicultural programs that promote equal educational opportunity and academic excellence for Bilingual/ESL students.
Texas Association for Language Supervision (TALS)
The purpose of this Association is to promote and improve the study and teaching of languages, including literatures and cultures, by providing its members with research-based educational and professional support; by encouraging and enhancing leadership roles; and by collaborating with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and professional organizations at area, state, regional, and national levels.
